This Giant Snakehead Managed to Break The Maryland State Record

Emory (Dutch) Baldwin III was out doing a little bow fishin late one recent evening on the Maryland side of the Potomac River when after heading over to check if any blue cats had moved up onto the flats- spotted a giant snakehead. After getting a good shot on it and landing it – Baldwin and his buddy decided to go get it weighed the next day at a local market where DNR reps certified the scales that tipped the ugly big snakehead in at 18.42 pounds. The record for this species is allowed to be hooked by any method just as long as the catcher after weighing dispatches the catch- as this species is an introduced pest in these waters.
