This New Record Texas Swordfish Was Hooked Using Tuna Guts As Bait

Big Texan fisherman  Emil J. Krejci Jr was out late last month offshore in the Gulf of Mexico chasin big swordfish when he hooked and landed what turned out to be better than big – a farkin new record !

It was around mid afternoon on June 29 that Emil and his fishing buddies set a line with a big deep bait – a whole tuna stomach. The bait was set at around 1,350 feet deep and it didn’t take long before it was taken whole.

After nearly a 2.5 hours battle , big Emile landed an impressive 412 pound swordfish that measured 97 inches and became the new Texan Gulf of Mexico Swordfish record.
